about INC

The Tenth International Nanotechnology Conference on Communication and Cooperation (INC 10) was hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and held on their campus in Gaithersburg, Md, on May 13-15, 2014.

The INC vision is to foster international communication and cooperation on nanotechnology and particularly on nanoelectronics between industry, academic and government partners to advance innovation in computer, communications, electronics, and related industries. Global science and technology trends and overviews of major regional funding programs will be presented from Europe, Japan and the United States that address scientific and societal challenges, and that support sustainable technological and economic growth.

The U.S. Nano Day took place on May 13th. The NIST campus includes some of the nation's premier measurement capabilities, as well as unique user facilities such as the Center for Neutron Research and the Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology.

INC 9: The Ninth International Nanotechnology Conference on Communication and Cooperation

I have been involved in the INC from the very first conference held in San Francisco in 2005 and I have not missed a conference for two reasons. Firstly, these INC conferences bring excellent overviews of new developments and associated research topics in the fields of communication, energy and health, where nanotechnology can help to bring solutions to the great societal challenges. Secondly, the INC conference is a meeting place for executives from the most renowned research institutes from the US, Japan and Europe, allowing them to exchange ideas about important roadblocks and to discuss cooperation opportunities in these fields.
